Survivor: South Pacific

by Gina Scarpa

Just when you thought Cochran was on the heels of Papa Bear and heading to Redemption Island on Survivor: South Pacific, Jim's paranoia gets the best of him and he wants to vote Elyse out. He doesn't like that Elyse and Ozzy are cozying up so instead of taking out the ACTUAL threat, he's going after his little lady instead. Let's not call that a "big move".

Brandon continues to ruin his game with his brutal honesty. This week's bad decision is telling Edna that she's the sixth person in a five person alliance.

Nobody seems too high on going to Redemption Island to watch the duel since being away from camp equals being away from bonding or strategizing. Jim and Cochran attend for Savaii, while Brandon and Edna represent Upolu. Brandon apologizes to Christine for the way things went down at tribal council and wishes her well but she's not buying it - I'm pretty sure I'm not buying it either!

Who knew beanbag tosses could be so intense? In a very close duel, Christine lands one more bag than Papa Bear and that's enough to keep her on Redemption Island for a few more days.

Back at Savaii, Cochran and Jim try to pull Dawn in to vote Elyse out if they lose at the immunity challenge... which brings us to the competition. Players have to carry as much weight as possible on their shoulders as given to them by the opposing tribe. Keith drops first followed by Albert. The Survivor record is 220lbs, held by JT and Rupert, but it's broken by Jim and Brandon at 240lbs. That leaves Dawn and Stacy, of all people, to win it for their tribes but Stacey just couldn't hold on and Savaii is safe from elimination!

Stacey leads Brandon to believe that his alliance is not trustworthy so he starts running around like a chicken with his head cut off. As much as Coach tries to keep him in check, it seems the damage Brandon has done thus far is already done.

At tribal council, Probst tries to do some group therapy by asking the members of Upolu what annoys them about one another.  Rick (yeah, someone named Rick plays this game) says Albert snores too much, Brandon says Edna has a lot to say about a lot of things, and Edna says that Stacey is tough to engage.  I don't know what the point of that was but now, Brandon has broken down, saying that he wants to be somebody that God is proud of.

Perhaps his tears saved him or perhaps he was never a target at all, but when the votes are read, Stacey is sent to Redemption Island to visit her good friend Christine.
