Going into tonight's final results show of the season on So You Think You Can Dance, I honestly don't know who is going to walk away the winner. Each dancer has something going for them that makes them absolutely deserving of the win so I'm pretty sure I'll be happy no matter what come 10:00.

 

The ever fabulous Sonya Tayeh choreographs the opening number with the Top 20 and she also sits on the panel tonight along with Lil C, Robin Antin, Tyce, Nigel, Mary, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Love, love, love!

 

After some cliche, congratulatory words ("you're all winners", "you're an inspiration to kids everywhere") from the panel, we check out a montage of the journey from auditions all the way to the finale.

 

Time for some encore performances: Sasha and Kent's contemporary piece with the wall, Melanie and Marko's hip hop routine about two friends realizing they're in love, and Tadd and Lauren's jazz routine - and this time, his hat stayed on! We also revisit Robert and Miranda's woodpecker hip hop routine, and the Top 8's circus routine (which was so amazingly beautiful).

 

Jess and Nick team up with Britain's SYTYCD winner, Matt Flint, for an impressive tap routine. I don't know what's more impressive - that Jess also taps or that a tap dancer won SYTYCD somewhere!

 

More encores: Melanie and Neil's contemporary routine set to "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" and then two from Sonya Tayeh - Marko and Allison's contemporary piece and the Top 10 geisha girl routine.

 

Over an hour in, it's time for some results. Unfortunately, Tadd leaves the competition and finishes in 4th place but he should definitely be proud of all he's accomplished.

 

After Ashley and Chris do an encore performance of their jailhouse Broadway routine, a video is shown of the final four's trip to the Glee 3D movie premiere in Hollywood. Then, Twitch and Sasha perform, one more time, arguably the best hip hop routine of the season. The Top 10 guys hit the stage for Chris Scott's door piece, and then Caitlynn and Pasha teamed back up for the Argentine Tango.

 

Melanie and Marko give us their first routine of the season, their statue piece by Travis Wall, and then Cat eliminates Mark from the competition - rough for him, but it's what everyone predicted would happen. Now... will it be Melanie or Sasha?

 

Before we find out, the girls give us the final encore performance of the night - their Sonya Tayeh jazz routine, where both dance with an equal amount of power and passion.

 

And the winner of season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance is... MELANIE!!
