The Glee Project: Episode 6 Recap

This week's theme on The Glee Project is Tenacity and the kids are assigned the song "Bulletproof" by La Roux to impress Robert Ulrich and guest mentor Max Adler (Dave Karofsky). Their performance seemed to start out okay but Max decided to stop it early on in the song and make them start again. He wanted them to do things they had never done and play it bigger - and bigger, it was. Ridiculous almost, actually.

People jumped over chairs, got in Max's and Robert's faces, and literally pushed each other to be the one who stood out the most. At the end of the song, Max decided that it was Marissa who had the most tenacity, mostly because she kicked her chair over. That's her second win in a row and it seems she's on a roll!

The contestants will be performing a mashup of "Under Pressure" and "Ice, Ice Baby" - awesome. Not only will this video shoot be challenging choreography-wise, but they will also all be slushied in the face while trying to perform. Nice! That's total initiation into the Glee family!

After bombing in the studio vocally, Hannah was especially nervous during choreography with Brooke, while Alex marked everything and refused to do it full out.

At the video shoot, Robert and Zach felt that Marissa wasn't as energetic as they have normally seen her. Lindsay and Damian seemed to take their slushies best while Cameron acted like someone just threw him in the Arctic Ocean. He was so shaken by it that the video shoot had to stop so that he could collect himself and try again... and again.

Afterwards, Robert met with everyone to let Lindsay, Samuel, and Damian know that they were safe. The mentors deliberated about it but felt that Hannah ultimately pulled through in the shoot enough to earn a callback. That leaves Alex to sing "And I Am Telling You" from Dreamgirls (in full drag), Marissa to perform "Hate On Me" by Jill Scott, and Cameron to perform his original song "Love Can Wait", which is pretty cool.

The mentors felt that Alex wasn't trying hard enough, that Marissa needed more control, and were concerned about Cameron's acting ability. Marissa needs more control? I thought she needed more energy? It was her first time being in the bottom three, as well as the first time the winner of a homework challenge landed in the bottom, but the mentors were not forgiving. Her name did not appear on the callback list and she was eliminated from the competition.
