So You Think You Can Dance Season 8

by Gina Scarpa

Tonight's elimination episode of So You Think You Can Dance began with a Bollywood routine, performed brilliantly by everyone on that stage! Noticeably missing from the panel was last night's guest judge, Carmen Electra, but I was quickly distracted by Travis Wall's dapper tuxedo.

First to find out their fate are Melanie and Marko and Caitlynn and Mitchell - both couples are safe!

Time for a little plug from SYTYCD: National Dance Day is coming on July 30th and there are routines for everyone on fox.com/dance. You can learn from Tabitha and Napoleon, Robin Antin, or Miss Mary Murphy herself.

Next on the stage are Ashley and Chris, who find out that they're in the bottom three. They'll be joined by Jordan and Tadd, while Jes and Clarice find out that they're safe. The last couple in danger is Ryan and Ricky, and Sasha and Alexander are safe.

Cat introduces Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, who appeared in the movie "The Adjustment Bureau" with Matt Damon.

Ashley's solo is full of grace and feminity, Chris moves his body in ways I can't understand but am amazed by, and Jordan brings her power and sultry ways to the dance floor. Tadd's choice of a song (Gloria Estefan's "1-2-3") made me burst out laughing and he entertained from start to finish. Ryan brings emotion and truly dances for her life and Ricky brings his technical A-game.

While the judges deliberate, Florence and The Machine hits the stage to perform "Cosmic Love".

Nigel reveals that the people leaving tonight are Ashley and Chris.  I think everyone saw that coming.

Be sure to watch the Top 12 take the stage on So You Think You Can Dance, Wednesday at 8/7c on FOX.
