The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 3

by Jessica Blackwell

"The wife makes it, and the wife breaks it"

Since season three started I've waited for the real reason behind this family feud to come out. I don't mean the petty reasons we've been offered until this point - let's review: an batch of store bought cookies, overbooked hairdressers, and housewarming cards. I mean, a REAL reason. A plausible explanation for the deep seated issues this family clearly has. My hope bubble was once again popped when Melissa revealed that the moment she knew something wasn't right was when Teresa chewed her out for using the same child photographer as her. Although I was dismayed, it does support my theory that Teresa was jealous of Melissa and therefore caused the rift.

"When it comes to family, everyone needs to forgive and forget"

The conversation ended well, with invitations to holiday parties. I was a bit concerned about the speed of the reconciliation, or maybe I was just let down. Five episodes of build up, and two seconds of conversation? Wait, no, someone has to flip a table! On a serious note, I don't know that this is the end to all their problems. I feel that they are jumping too quickly into it. Melissa seemed as if she was willing hash everything out, but Teresa clearly did not want to walk down memory lane.

Kathy and her husband go restaurant shopping, even though she is very skeptical about opening a business with him. She was concerned about working with her husband because she wants it to be very clear that they are partners. From the delicious desserts she brought to Melissa's party, I'm sure it would be an amazing place. I hope they get it off the ground, maybe I'll take a trip to Jersey.

"I've never been to the Catskills.....I'm a little worried about the showering. I like to smell pretty."

Some of the bunch headed up to the country to stay in a cabin owned by the Giudice family for a getaway. I will ask this question again - how is Teresa still spending money? Some families can't afford to take vacations and I would think a recently bankrupt one should be on that list. Guess not...

Their retreat did look like fun, complete with a pizza making contest, wine, inappropriate dinner conversation, quads and lots of guns for hunting. (not sure how I feel about that last part) Jacqueline made a Nutella pizza that I will be attempting, because it looked amazing.

Joe purchased a vibrating ring for him and Teresa to take on the trip. Although I don't want to hear about their sex life, this was not the appalling part. The appalling part was when she whipped it out during her interview and then proceeded to turn it on. I sincerely hope it was washed. Ew.

"These people were looking at us like they've never been to Bloomingdales"

The gang ventured out to a local bar and tried to have some fun. I'm sure the locals got some laughs out of the ladies. and vice versa.

Meanwhile back in the garden state, the rest of the cast attended Melissa and Joey's daughter's winter dance performance. Joey had a really good time with his mom, which was nice to see because their relationship is a bit strained because of all the family drama.

Can't wait for next week!
