The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 3

by Jessica Blackwell

This week on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, the big sit down is finally here. At least half of it, anyway. Teresa and Joey meet at a restaurant determined to hash out their issues.

Joey brings up what happened at his son's christening and calls it disgusting. This is true, it was disgusting, but he is the one who started acting like a child.

Teresa brings up how Joey and Melissa's courtship began, saying that her brother was engaged 2 times before her, seemingly trying to diminish what they have. She felt that Melissa only liked her brother for his money. Melissa was putting herself through school and working 3 jobs to support herself. It wasn't like she was sitting around waiting for someone to take care of her. I actually respect her way more for learning this about her. Teresa also admit that in the beginning of her marriage she put her brother before her husband. Joey said this had a lot to do with the volatile nature of his relationship with his brother in law.

Joey hit the nail on the head when he said that his sister and his wife are both the same way, and that's why they can't get along and they compete with each other.

Teresa seemed speechless after all of her brother's rebuttals. I'm not sure if she was tired of arguing, or if she really had nothing to say to defend herself. Whichever one it is, she stripped away all the pettiness at least for a moment, saying that they would both regret not speaking if something happened to either of them. Joey tells Teresa needs to talk to his wife, and she promised to "make it better".

Kathy, her husband, Joe, and Melissa attended a dinner part at a friend's home shortly after the meeting. During this event, Teresa's money issues came up and a guest mocked the fact that her furniture was in danger of being auctioned off, which I thought was very rude. I know that they have their issues, but no one at the table came to her defense. Family is Family, and one thing my mama always taught me was that you never let anyone talk about your family. Clearly, they were not taught the same lesson.

Caroline's radio show kicked off, and despite her being extremely nervous, she rocked it. Guests got to call in and ask her for advice, and she definitely gave it, which is what she does best. She also gave Teresa some advise telling her to "Put her big girl panties on" and handle the situation with her brother's wife.

Jacqueline offers up her house for the sit down with Melissa and Teresa, and it doesn't seem to start very well, with Melissa declaring she doesn't know how this is ever going to work 2 seconds into the conversation.

But alas, we will have to wait until next week as Bravo has extended the episode to pull in ratings. I wonder if it's going to go down Jersey Style! I would hope that Teresa wouldn't flip any tables in Jacqueline's home...
