The Real World: Las Vegas - Finale

by Gina Scarpa

It feels like we just got to know them but it's already time to say goodbye to the roomies of The Real World: Las Vegas. Before she leaves and heads home, Naomi has one thing on her bucket list that she wants to cross off: getting married. She tries to convince Mike to propose to her, because the other two guys in the apartment aren't husband material. He laughs it off but she's dead set on tying the knot.

In the meantime, the roomies pull together to launch a charity event to help school music programs. Leroy, Nany, and Mike go on the radio to help promote it and everyone is invited onto a local news station as well. The night before, Naomi and Cooke feel it's a good idea to randomly paint themselves blue, which doesn't sit too well with Dustin. When discussing a plan for being on live tv the next morning, people try to let Heather have the spotlight since education is what she wants to do with her life but Dustin isn't having it. There's a guitar that will be auctioned off at the charity roller derby, he's in love with it, and he wants to talk about it. I'm not sure what he loves more - the guitar or hearing himself talk.

Back at the apartment, Leroy gets some devastating news that his friend has been killed back home. No one has ever seen Leroy show much emotion, never mind completely break down. He turns to his closest friend in the house, Mike, for support. He tells him that he needs to go home and be with friends and family. That's more important than being in Vegas right now so Leroy heads out, hoping to return before it's time to say goodbye for good.

Out at dinner, Mike finally pops the question to Naomi, giving her a Ring Pop (yeah, really...) as a sign of his love and devotion to her. To "celebrate Mike's last night of being single", everyone heads out to a strip club to party but the groom is pretty uncomfortable with being there. He hides in the bathroom until it's time to go. C'mon. It's a little cute.

Leroy makes it back in time for the big day. Everyone heads to a quickie chapel where Naomi and Mike laugh hysterically through the ceremony. Hopefully, they'll be getting an annulment soon after. He did make her sign a prenup so at least he's safe there!

And now, it's time to say goodbye. The roomies drag their mattresses out to the bowling alley for a sleepover together and say goodbye the next morning. They didn't do the usual "one roommate gets picked up at a time until the roomie with the most interesting story this season is the last to leave" thing. It was still a little sad and we'll miss them... well, until Adam and Leroy show up on the upcoming Real World/Road Rules challenge.
