Patrick House from The Biggest Loser 11

Last season on The Biggest Loser, Patrick House stepped onto the scale at the live finale and weighed in at 219 pounds. That was enough to make the confetti drop and declare him the winner of season 10. Tonight, he'll pass the torch on to a new winner at the season 11 live finale. We caught up with Patrick in an exclusive interview to look back at the last year as well as into his future.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What sparked your weight loss journey?
A. Patrick: I look back at where I was this time last year. I was 421 pounds and unemployed. At 400 pounds, I wasn't able to be the husband and the father that I want to be. There were things I couldn't enjoy with my wife and kids. For me, it was more about changing my life to better my family.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You stepped on the scale at the finale last season and weighed in at 219. What did it feel like to be named the winner?
A. Patrick: For me, having that confetti fall and realize I had won The Biggest Loser was a culmination of so many events. All the goals were all coming true at the same time. It was especially great to look out into the crowd and see my wife, friends, and family. For me, it really was an answered prayer.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What have the last 6 months been like for you? How are you keeping the weight off?
A. Patrick: The last 6 months have been a whirlwind of media tours, speaking engagements, and motivational appearances. I've been really fortunate, along with diet and exercise, one of the keys that really helps me is having the opportunity to have The Biggest Loser meal plan. It takes away that moment that everybody knows of standing in the kitchen and staring at the cabinet. That takes it away because I don't have to think about it. That's really helped me along with staying active. This time, a month ago, I ran the Boston Marathon. I've got more marathons coming in 2011. I'm staying motivated and hoping to inspire people all across the country.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When I talked to you back in December, you were working at MindStream Academy. Are you still there?
A. Patrick: Yes, I am. I'm proud to still be with MindStream. Our students are making fantastic changes. To be able to work with kids is a dream job. I'm looking for big things in the fall semester when we have our new batch of students come in. The Patrick House Foundation have established some opportunities to kids. They can go online, apply, and see our program.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Will you be appearing at tonight's live finale?
A. Patrick: Yeah, I'm not exactly sure what NBC has planned for me. I'll be in the audience and I don't know what they have planned. I've seen the contestants and been here this whole week. America is going to be blown away.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What advice do you have for the contestants now that their season is over?
A. Patrick: It's a tough transition. I've been telling the contestants to take it one day at a time. When you're done and The Biggest Loser is over, that's not the finish line. The finish line is the rest of your life. You have to stay focused, continue to exercise. As quickly as you take it off, you can put it back on even quicker. I don't want to scare them but I want them to know, "What you've done is amazing. Enjoy the moment but when the show's over and the cameras go away, remain focused."

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What's next for you?
A. Patrick: I'm working with MindStream. This summer, I'll be doing some tours with a weight loss camp. I'm also still on my motivational speaking tour and doing all those things. I'm really staying busy. My publicist keeps me busy and I like to stay active. I'll tell my story to anybody who will listen.

Don't miss the live finale of The Biggest Loser, tonight at 8/7c on NBC.
