America's Next Top Model Cycle 16

by Mike Bandy

We're down to the final three girls on ANTM! Brittani, Hannah, and Molly were all feeling the pressure of the competition last night. Brittani really wants to be in the top two, and knows that Molly is ahead of her photo wise, and Hannah is ahead of her commercial wise, so there's no room for mistakes. Molly has dealt with a lot of abandonment issues, and says she understands life more than the other two girls, so she should win. Hannah just wants to get out of Houston, because there's not a lot of opportunity there for modeling.

No time for more introspection: TYRA MAIL! "Tomorrow, you'll know beauty inside, out, and about."

The next day, Mr. Jay arrives at the house with a special announcement from Lara Spencer, of The Insider. The challenge is for the girls to choose a fashion trend in Morocco and film a 90 second report for The Insider about it. They must do all of the research, interviewing, and filming within an hour and a half, and they must fill a full 90 seconds. The winning girl will have her interview posted on The Insider's website.

Let's get going! Molly had black kohl, which is a stone that women use for eyeliner. Brittani had henna, and Hannah had argan oil, which women use to soften their skin and their hair. The interviewing didn't go so well for Brittani - she couldn't find anyone who spoke English too well. Molly seemed to be having an okay time, and Hannah thought she had an edge because she studied journalism.

When they arrived back at the house for judging, Molly's interview flowed the best, Hannah didn't ask enough questions, and Brittani's was a major flub. In the end, Molly was the winner of the challenge, and Hannah was frustrated.

Later, Tyra arrived at the house to talk to the girls about how they're feeling and who they are. Molly opened up about being adopted and being on drugs and putting her parents through a lot in high school. Hannah said that she never felt good enough, but this competition has helped her realize that she is. Brittani talked about her mother and her severe panic disorder, and how she was labeled growing up.

Tyra decided to photo graph each girl with their hair greased and weird makeup on, a la Cycle 5. All of the girls gave amazing shots, and then Tyra taught them how to isolate parts of their bodies, and did a weird dance, up to the roof, where there were Moroccan men playing music. Everyone was dancing and having a great time.

TYRA MAIL! AGAIN! "Are you really committed? You will be tomorrow."

The next day, the girls headed off to the beach for their next photo shoot with a male model, and Nigel as the photographer. The premise was that they'd be wearing Moroccan wedding dresses and it was a relationship. Brittani cried in her photo shoot, and Nigel wondered if she had to cry in every shoot to get an emotion. Molly thought she did a really bad job and was upset with herself, and Hannah thought she brought everything she could to the shoot. Brittani predicted that either she or Molly would be going home.

‘Tis time for panel, with guest judge Ivan Bart, Sr. Vice President of IMG Models! Tyra threw in a twist - she loved all the girls' photos so much, they would have TWO best photos this week! First up was Brittani, and the judges loved her shot, especially the second one because it told the story. Hannah was next, and though her shot gave emotion, it was almost too much emotion, and she forgot her model. Molly was up last, and the judges were blown away by both of her shots.

Who's our final two?!?! Stop biting your nails - Molly was called out as the first finalist, which wasn't really a surprise. Her photos have been absolutely stunning. Hannah and Brittani were in the bottom two - Hannah can be edgy, and Brittani may not be strong as an international model. Brittani was announced as the last finalist, and Hannah was eliminated.

Hannah felt confused with the outcome, but was proud of herself. She said that this was an amazing experience, and wished she would have been more consistent with her photographs.

Next week, the finale, and a runway show for VIVIENNE WESTWOOD! Are you as pumped as I am?!
