American Idol Season 10

by Gina Scarpa

Tonight, on American Idol, things get going with a Carole King medley by the Top 6. After that, last year's runner up, Crystal Bowersox, performs "Ridin' With The Radio".

Before Ryan gets to the results, he reads some viewer questions for the contestants. Casey reveals that he'd love to perform with Oscar Peterson, a famous jazz singer. Jacob said he discovered his range at a young age and Lauren says that the toughest part of being in the Idol competition was being away from home. She checked in on her family following the devastating tornados that ripped through the south and was relieved to hear that her brother was okay.

Scotty admitted that he worked in a grocery store prior to Idol and also cleaned tanning beds at his mom's salon. James said that he played with a few bands before the show and one ON the show with Casey, Paul, and Stefano. Haley hails Adam Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Lee Dewyze, and Crystal Bowersox as her favorite past Idol contestants.

Haley is the first to find out that she's safe. Ryan calls Lauren and Scotty over individually but sends them back to the couches without letting them know whether or not they're in the bottom three. He does the same to Casey, too. What is the point of this?

James is safe, Jacob is clueless, and then Ryan calls the four who haven't gotten their results yet to the center of the stage. Lauren is safe but the rest will have to wait to find out their fate until after Bruno Mars performs "Lazy" - great song and very cool performance.

After the break, Ryan reveals that Jacob is safe and it all comes down to Casey and Scotty. With a knowing look on his face, Casey finds out that he'll be the person leaving the competition. He had a good run!  What did you think of the results?

Be sure to tune in to American Idol when the Top 5 hit the stage, Wednesday at 8/7c on FOX.
