Kasia from America's Next Top Model Cycle 16

Last night on ANTM, Kasia, the 26-year-old "fiercely real" model from Wheaton, IL, was eliminated. She struggled with confidence and body issues this week, and the judges thought it showed in her photos, but she seemed confident throughout the competition. We caught up with Kasia to talk about what being the only fiercely real girl in the competition is like, how ANTM compares to the real modeling world, and what's coming up next for her.

Q. Mike, RealityWanted: On last night's episode, it seemed you were really upset with things not fitting properly in the store, and you were a bit self-conscious in your shoot, but it seemed rather abrupt to me, because you've been confident through most of the competition. Was this the first time that you felt self-conscious in the competition?
A. Kasia: I don't think it was portrayed quite honestly in my opinion, but I think that it was kind of implied that I had an inner critic and was letting things get in my own way, but I felt like there were lots of outer critics chipping away at my confidence, and I felt targeted. Certain things are manipulated; I am a confident person, but a person can only take so much, and it's hard to keep your confidence if someone's constantly saying things. I'm upset with the say it came off, but it hadn't been a problem for me up to then.

Q. Mike, RealityWanted: Tell us what it's like to be the only "fiercely real" girl in the competition. What kind of pressures come with that?
A. Kasia: You know what, I actually felt great all through the competition up to the last week. It hadn't really been an issue. In the beginning Tyra told me I'd have to work harder, so I always felt like I had to be a bit better. It can definitely be a bit harder because people can automatically dismiss you as not being a model, and it's getting better, but it's not as good as regular models have it. It kinda just went from there and I was just doing my thing. It didn't have to be this whole segregation as she's the fiercely real one! Diversity is a good thing in the industry, and there were points where it was great, but some of it wasn't.

Q. Mike, RealityWanted: You have had some modeling experience in the past - I know that your shoot with V Magazine (which was amazing, by the way) was talked about a lot on the show. As a model with experience under her belt, do you feel that ANTM is an accurate representation of the modeling world?
A. Kasia: Um, I feel like especially the way the show is now, we got to work with so many amazing people, and some real players in the industry, and that was what I appreciated the most about it, but there are elements to it that make it pretty apparent that it's a reality show. It's both sides; you get an experience with so many different shoots that regular working models wish they can do, and that's the best thing about this amazing opportunity.

Q. Mike, RealityWanted: Give us some behind the scenes info: Was there anything hilarious that happened in Morocco that didn't get shown last night?
A. Kasia: There was a night where the girls got drunk! Molly went to bed, and Brittani, Hannah, and Alexandira drank, and I think that was the night before the panel! I was hanging with them, but I had a headache and I wasn't in a mood to drink! There were some crazy conversations! We were up on the roof, and we had a pool down there. There were also cats EVERYWHERE in the house, they were just running around! Hannah loved them and wanted to mother them, but I'm allergic, so I just wanted them to get away.

Q. Mike, RealityWanted: If the decision of who wins America's Next Top Model were up to you, other than yourself, whom would you choose, and why would you choose them?
A. Kasia: I would have to say Miss Jay! And I don't think I really need to explain that.

Q. Mike, RealityWanted: What's coming up next for you?
A. Kasia: Oh, I have lots of secret things in store! I've been working since the show ended; we haven't been allowed to model, so I've just been testing and getting my portfolio together, and hopefully I can sign with someone. I've been in ongoing acting classes and hoping to get representation with that. Basically combining my two loves, that among other things. I kinda don't sleep!
