16 and Pregnant Season 3

by Allie Giffes

On this episode of 16 and Pregnant, we meet Jennifer and her boyfriend Josh, who her parents don't exactly approve of. Unfortunately, Jennifer has two buns in the oven - so her situation will be double the trouble and double the work.

Her parents feel as though Josh doesn't understand the seriousness of the situation. Her parents' best interest is in the babies - not Jennifer's relationship with Josh. They also don't want her children to have Josh's last name. You'd think they'd have more important issues to think about with twins on the way!

All Jennifer wants is a baby shower, but since her parents aren't happy with her pregnancy or her relationship, Josh's parents plan to surprise her by planning one instead. Jennifer asks her parents to attend, but they both decline her invitation.

Jennifer's first day at her new school is finally here, but being pregnant makes everything much more stressful. She's not just the new girl; she's the new pregnant girl. Luckily, she survives her first day. Good thing, because there's much more stress to come with her due date only a few weeks away!

Josh takes Jennifer out to a nice dinner for their one-year anniversary and surprises her with... an engagement ring. Her parents are not going to like this!

When Jennifer tells her mom the news, she's speechless. Josh explains to Jennifer's mom that he feels like he's ready to take this step, but her mother worries that he feels like he has to do this because of the pregnancy. Sounding like she's in a soap opera, she stresses to Jennifer that this is supposed to be a beautiful moment where she'd be able to say "congratulations," but she can't. Ouch.

Her dad is not much happier with the news. He tells her that she needs to have the babies first, and see how that impacts her life before she leaps into marriage. Jennifer agrees, but she wants to be able to call Josh her fiancé when she leaves the hospital with their babies - just to "have the commitment there."

The day of Jennifer's C-section is finally here. Luckily she has Josh and her parents there to support her. Two hours later, Jennifer and Josh are parents to Noah and Joshua Jr. Ultimately, they decide to give the babies Josh's last name. I'm sure her parents will be thrilled.
Jennifer calls her mother from the hospital so that she can come home, but her parents feel as though Josh feels like he has no consequences and that they continue to get disrespected. Josh argues with Jennifer's mother over the phone, causing Jennifer to have a melt down. A new mother does not need this kind of stress - and Josh really needs an attitude adjustment!

Jennifer has Josh come to her house, but he leaves because he feels uncomfortable around her family. With all the energy he spends being selfish, he should be trying much harder to get along with her parents. Instead, he texts Jennifer and tells her he's not coming back to her house as long as her parents are there... in their own home.

The twins are now one week old, and Josh still hasn't seen them since he left Jennifer's house, but she wants him to see their children - so she compromises and agrees to bring them over to his house for a while. Things take a turn for the worst on the car ride there when Josh and Jennifer get in a heated argument over the lack of respect he shows her parents. He calls her a "stupid a!# b$@#%" and Jennifer orders him to pull over, but when she gets out of the car he drives off with their one week old twins in the backseat. Jennifer is left alone on the side of the road.

Josh drives back to get her, but their argument turns physical and Jennifer decides to call the cops. Her mother comes to pick the babies up and has a few choice words for Josh. Jennifer tells him to say goodbye to their kids since he won't be seeing them anymore, and the cops cuff him up and take him away. This is something her parents will absolutely never forgive or forget.

Jennifer feels betrayed. She always stood up for Josh against her parents, but there's no going back to him now. Her focus is on finishing high school and taking care of her twins, which her parents have agreed to support her with 100%. Although she wishes that

Josh could've coexisted with her family, unfortunately not all stories have happy endings.
