America's Next Top Model Cycle 16

by Mike Bandy

Top Model began with Brittani and Alexandria talking about their issues in the bus. Brittani was really worried about her place in the competition, because Tyra was so disappointed in her after last week's fiasco. The rest of the girls were breathing a little easier, according to Kasia, because everything was out in the open, and Alexandria told the girls that she had no issue with them (though her confessional showed that she didn't really trust them).

The girls arrived at an art gallery, where they saw their portfolios, and Tyra was there to explain the process of creating a portfolio. The trick, apparently, is to start off with a close up of your face, and then end with something that will leave the client talking. She went through each girl's portfolio and chose the order of the photos, and then gave them their portfolios, but that's not all!!

Tyra held up a big letter "C", and said that each portfolio contained the remaining letters of the INTERNATIONAL DESTINATION! The girls worked the puzzle out, and found out that they would be going to Morocco...but not all of them! There would be a go-see challenge the next day, and that would weigh heavily on who goes overseas, as there were only 5 seats available! Book the jobs, go overseas; don't book the jobs, go home.

Back at the house the next day, the girls are greeted by Kyle Haigler from IMG, and he explained the process for the go-sees. The girls would have 4 hours to do 4 go-sees, and they must reach a 5th destination, Lana Marks, by 3PM. The top 3 performers would get a bonus go-see with Marks. Each girl had a driver in a Smart car and a map, and they were not allowed to ask their driver for directions. Anyone who arrived after 3P would be disqualified. GO!!

During the chaos that ensued, we found that Alexandria was booking jobs left and right, Molly was having some trouble with directions, Jaclyn could not read her map at all and only made it to 2 go-sees, Brittani had some map trouble but managed to book all she saw as well. Hannah's walk needs a lot of work and she doesn't seem confident, and most of the clients loved Kasia, though they thought she seemed rehearsed. ALL of the girls made it to Lana Marks before 3PM, which might be a Top Model first!

Kyle announced that the top three performers were Molly, Alexandria, and Kasia, and they got to do a go-see for Lana Marks, but there was a twist. The prize for this challenge would be appearing in her global campaign, receiving a gift bag from all of the designers, and receiving a replica of a bag that she designed for Angelina Jolie worth $2,000.

Alexandria gave great poses and told Marks that she'd love to be in the campaign, Molly gave even better poses, but Marks did not like her attitude when she wasn't modeling, and Kasia did a decent job. The winner of the challenge was Alexandria.

The girls arrived home to a Tyra Mail: "A modeling career is a terrible thing to waste."

Time for the photo shoot! We're at the Olinda Landfill for a shoot with eco-friendly designs (SPECIFICALLY-MADE-FOR-EACH-GIRL designs, by the way) by Michael Cinco. Nigel was the photographer.

Brittani was worried about her performance, but after a pep talk from Nigel, she did really well. Jaclyn struggled a little in her shoot, while Alexandria wowed Nigel more than any other girl. Hannah second-guessed herself, but gave a high fashion pose, and Kasia did well too.

Back at the house, Jaclyn was worried about having a good picture, because there's so much more of her that the judges haven't seen yet. Meanwhile, Molly thought there was no way she could be eliminated...

At panel, Alexandria was wearing a shirt that said No.1 (I refuse to believe this was a coincidence), and she booked every single go see she saw. Her photo was flawless to the judges as well. Hannah did a decent job, but she lacks confidence. Molly booked most of her go-sees, but her attitude was brought up as an issue, and Jaclyn's photo wasn't as strong as her past work, plus she only made it to two go-sees. Kasia did okay, and Brittani apologized to Tyra, who was impressed with her work this week.

Who's going to Morocco?? The call outs!
1. Alexandria
2. Hannah
3. Kasia
4. Brittani

Jaclyn and Molly, come on down! Jaclyn only made it to two go sees, but has a great personality. Molly made it to 4 go sees, but she didn't really sell the clients. Molly got to stay, and Jaclyn was eliminated.

Tyra told Molly that she needs to do some soul searching, and told Jaclyn that she needs to learn to read a map. Jaclyn was really sad, but she feels blessed that she got the opportunity, and this is the beginning of a career for her. She said, "If anyone's looking for a tall brunette with a squeaky voice, I'm your girl!"
