Amy Bruni from Ghost Hunters Season 7

by Gina Scarpa and Chad Alan

Amy Bruni has been a welcomed addition to Ghost Hunters, joining TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) fulltime over two years ago. Growing up in a house that was considered haunted, Amy became familiar with the history of the paranormal world and would investigate haunted sites with her father who considered himself an amateur paranormal investigator. When not investigating with TAPS, Amy travels the country and lectures on the paranormal, hoping to promote continued research in the field. Today, we caught up with Amy in an exclusive interview to get some inside scoop about Ghost Hunters!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What is TAPS doing right now?
A. Amy: TAPS is currently investigating in Hawaii. We've talked about it for years, and finally, it was able to happen.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What is the taping schedule like for Ghost Hunters?
A. Amy: Non stop. I'm on the road an average of 300 days a year. We shoot 25 episodes a season and the average episode takes two weeks to shoot.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You've taken over as case manager. As the requests come in, how hard is it to separate out the cases where people may be trying to dupe you from ones that may actually be serious?
A. Amy: We have a pretty rigorous screening process. It's especially difficult for personal cases, but we take them all seriously. Obviously, we can't get to everyone, but we have a great network of TAPS Family groups across the country who we refer cases to on a regular basis.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Does the team get any opportunities to blow of some steam while investigating in the various cities across the country?
A. Amy: We usually have a couple days free. It's always nice to get out and visit the sights and meet the locals. It's been especially nice here in Hawaii! Almost doesn't feel like work - don't tell Jay I said that!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What do you do to stay up all night during the investigations?
A. Amy: We try to adjust our sleep schedules as much as possible before hand. For example, the night before I'll stay up really late so it's not so hard for investigation night. Between that and coffee we do alright. Time changes are the hardest though. When we are doing the west coast, or even here in Hawaii, you're looking at a 3-6 hour time difference.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Any chance you'll be joining Kris Williams with GHI (Ghost Hunters International)?
A. Amy: I'd definitely be down to join them for a case or two! I miss my girl!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How has the newfound popularity impacted your social life?
A. Amy: I have no time for a social life. Ha! Seriously, I tend to hang out with my team mates and the crew while we're on the road, and my family when I'm not working. I have met some great people since I've been on the show though, including some people in the entertainment industry that I've tried not to geek out too much over.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Is there anything exciting coming up that you want to mention?
A. Amy: We've made so many positive changes this season. I think the show has a new energy long time viewers have noticed. We've implemented a lot of new equipment, become much more experimental with our investigative styles and switched up the teams on the show a lot more often. We're having so much fun with it!
