Survivor: Nicaragua - Finale

by Gina Scarpa

Tonight, on the season finale of Survivor: Nicaragua, Fabio is in big trouble unless he continues to win immunity. After Jane was voted out, he sees the writing on the wall and is pretty down about it. However, he'll need to get his head right back in the game because it's time for another immunity challenge!

In this challenge, players must race out and correctly answer questions about Nicaragua in order to gain puzzle pieces. The first one to complete their puzzle wins. Not too far into it, Fabio and Dan started to fall out of the race. It started to come down to the alliance of three - Holly, Chase, and Sash. Just when it seemed that Sash had it in the bag, Fabio makes one of the craziest, most amazing comebacks in Survivor history to win!

At camp, Chase and Holly are dead set on getting rid of Dan... why, I can't understand. He's the perfect person to bring to the finals. Fabio and Dan try to bring Sash in to take Holly out but with Sketchy McGee, you never know what he's going to do until the last minute.

The first tribal council of the evening is a debate over whether Dan or Holly is a bigger threat. Is there even any need for a debate? Holly is clearly the favorite of the two to win this thing. When the votes are read, loyalty prevails over greed and Dan is voted out.

Back to the plan: Fabio goes home if he doesn't win the next immunity. First, though, the final four head out on the Rite of Passage to show their appreciation for the people that were voted out of the game. Man, I wish Jimmy Johnson, Kelly B, and Marty all got to stay longer than they did!

In the last immunity challenge of the season, players must balance a sword on a shield and place coins on the handle of the sword without dropping anything. Holly and Chase go out, leaving Fabio and Sash to battle it out. Many coins later, Sash accidentally drops a coin which eliminates him. Fabio wins the last immunity!

As you can imagine, there is some serious scrambling going on at camp. Sash, Chase, and Holly all take shots at one another while pleading their case to Fabio. That scrambling continues at tribal council, where the heat is turned up on Sash because he promised everyone that he would take them to the end. The only argument everyone has for Fabio to keep them is that they've been "honest" with him. Lame. In the end, Holly is voted out and sent to the jury at the worst possible time to leave this game.

After the La Flor boys celebrate and reflect back on their time out in Nicaragua, they head to their final tribal council to face the jury. In their opening statements, Chase thanks everyone for playing the game with him and promises to be honest, Fabio says that he was just himself and made big moves towards the end when he needed to, and Sash calls himself the best of the three players left in the game.

Of the three, Sash took the biggest hit from the jury, followed by Chase. Both were called backstabbers (but Sash's insults got way more personal) and Chase was repeatedly attacked for being dumb. At the right time, Fabio turns on some tears talking about his family. Towards the end, Chase and Sash try to target Fabio for being clueless for most of the game while he makes one final push to prove to everyone that he did outwit, outplay, and outlast.

The only votes that are shown leading up to the live tribal council are those for Chase and Fabio. So who wins the million?

Here are the votes: Fabio. Chase. Fabio. Chase. Chase. Chase. Fabio. Fabio.  It's a tie with one vote left!

The winner of Survivor: Nicaragua is... FABIO!!!
