Dancing with the Stars Season 11

by Gabrielle Abrams

This finale of Dancing with the Stars has everyone wondering, "Who is going to win this competition?" At the beginning of the show the top 3 finalists seemed obvious. But this is one season of Dancing with the Stars that has kept everyone guessing. Who will go home with the trophy tonight?

The show started off with a bang, having the eliminated contestants and their dance partners on the dance floor. Each got camera time as they danced around the stage. Everyone was there except for Michael Bolton and Audrina. The red and black outfits made for an awesome looking performance.

Bristol mentioned that if she won it would be "a huge middle finger to all the people who hate me and my mom." Classy.

Christina Aguilera was the first guest of the night. She performed a song from her new movie, Burlesque. The many scantily dressed women dancing around the dance floor did remind me of the trailer for the movie. Might be worth a see, well, if you like that stuff.

Kyle and Lacey performed their Tango. Len said that Kyle comes out, full of energy, and is always exciting to watch. Bruno called him a talented young man. And Carrie said that they are a breath of fresh air every week.

Bristol and Mark also performed their Tango. This time around it was much better though, who would have guessed that Bristol would have improved so much over the season? Len stated that they are two different sides of a coin. Bruno said they won their spot in the finale when they first danced this tango.

Jennifer and Derek chose a different dance than the other two with a Viennese Waltz. Jennifer ruptured a disc in her back the day before but was still killing it on the dance floor. Len called them the "full package." Bruno called their dance a blissfully beautiful waltz, which it certainly was.

The song for the Instant Cha-Cha was announced being Pinks "Raise Your Glass." The contestants picked their order out of a hat. Kyle was first, followed by Jennifer and then Bristol would take the last spot.

And it just wouldn't be DWTS without some of their funny videos. There is nothing more disturbing and hilarious than The Hoff running shirtless on the beach. He then ran into the studio, put on his "Hoffwatch" jacket and grabbed the microphone. We are again reminded of why he was kicked off the first week.

Next we got the athlete face-off. Kurt and Rick had a dancing competition to the song "The Final Countdown." The two danced with their partners while wearing their team colors. No wonder they are rivals, Los Angeles and Phoenix teams just don't get along.

The Situation then graces our television as his future self, as the mayor of New Jersey. "I won the race for governor, and didn't even run!" He then danced his futuristic-type dance once again to "I'm too Sexy" with, of course, a bare chest.

Brandy and Maks jumped into the scene with their incredibly entertaining quickstep to the theme song of "Friends" and as always, she caught the attention of every audience member. How did she get kicked off?

Christina Aguilera performed again. This time she is dressed and sings her touching song, Beautiful.

The much awaited Instant Cha-Cha Dance competition happened to the delight of everyone. Each team did an amazing job, only being given a short amount of time to create their performance. Jennifer and Derek really stood out having an amazing Cha-Cha Dance as always.

The totals after the last scores left Jennifer in the lead with 118 points, Kyle with 110 and Bristol in the rear with 104.

The results were tallied and the winner is known, but not to the viewers yet. We are made to wait impatiently as they wait to tell who the 3rd place contestant is. The normal music played for an uncomfortably long time before they announced that Bristol and Mark were in 3rd.

Then it came down to two contestants. These two made it far in the competition and both grew a lot. Kyle showed that he could take what the judges told him and come back stronger the next week and always had the best expressions. Jennifer showed that she can still compete to the highest degree despite her age or her body. She perseverance really should and made her the top contender she is.

And the 11th winner of Dancing with the Stars is... (drum roll please!) Jennifer Grey!  Are you happy that Jennifer and Derek won?
