The Challenge: Cutthroat

by Gina Scarpa

Last night, on The Challenge: Cutthroat, the players had a night to just relax so they do exactly what you'd think they'd do - they drink and almost get into a fight. Ty admits that one of his hobbies is pushing people's buttons (which is actually a terrible pastime) and starts in on Brandon after a joke with Luke went awry. He smartly goes to bed instead of getting kicked off the show for brawling because he knows there's money at stake!

For this week's challenge, players jump in pairs onto a surfboard suspended 40 feet above the water. As soon as they land on the board, it starts moving QUICKLY down a set of cables and the players have to jump off, swim a sizable lap, and ring a bell to signify they're done. It was all fine and good until Chet took a nasty fall and had to be rushed to the emergency room. After that, it was 40 foot fall after 40 foot fall. Not a single member of the red team could make it down the surfboard path. The gray team took home a much needed win, while the blue and red teams headed back to the house to debate who to send into the Gulag.

It is decided that Katie will face off against Camila and Brandon will go up against Ty. Their Gulag was called "Pole Me Over" and players had to hold onto one long pole and try to push their opponent past a line in order to win. Though Ty easily wins the first one, Brandon manages to fight back in round two and flip him over the chains that acted as boundaries for the challenge area. Ty gave a performance worthy of an Oscar as played dead and refused to get up and fight to stay in the game. He was escorted out by the medical staff and Brandon took a victory back to his red team.

Next up was Katie and Camila. Camila may have been underestimated thus far on Cutthroat, but she proved herself in the Gulag. She made easy work of Katie, sending her home without any money.

Meanwhile, Chet rests in the hospital and it's unclear whether or not he's okay to return to the game...
