Last night, on Survivor: Nicaragua, the gods smiled down upon Marty and blessed him with a merge - one last fighting chance to the stay in the game. Before the two tribes come together for their feast, Alina sits down with the Espada tribe and tells them how the votes should go. The only problem for Alina is that nobody is on board with her.

 

Marty comes up with the new name for the tribe - Libertad, meaning liberty or freedom. Immediately after the feast, NaOnka and

Brenda share a happy reunion and a walk in the woods to fill each other in on what's been going on in the game while they were apart. Na also decides to wreak some havoc when she steals the flour from camp and hides in the woods and then tells Alina that everyone is against her.

 

It doesn't take long for everyone at camp to notice that things are missing from fruit to flour to frying pans... apparently, only things that start with F. Having seen her take the flour earlier that morning, Holly calls her out in front of the whole group. Na gets defensive and takes off, only to return a short while later and 'fess up after being persuaded to do so by Alina and Chase.

 

There's definitely a target on her back now but Marty is still hoping to take Jane out first, feeling that while she stays in the game, things could be very unpredictable. Fair enough. Jane has formed a very close friendship with Chase and is a major threat if she makes it to the end of this game. He tries explaining this to Brenda but she has no ability to see things other than her way.

 

At the first immunity challenge post-merge, I'm happy to see that it involves focus and stamina. I like to see who wants to stay in this game! Players must use to handles to hold a stick and the minute they released any tension, it would slip and break a tile below. Two people will get necklaces - the last man and the last woman standing. Kelly and Dan go right out followed by Alina, Brenda, Benry, Sash, NaOnka, and Holly. That means Jane wins immunity, quite quickly, I might add, but decides to stay in to attempt to beat the boys.

 

Chase, Fabio, and Marty stay in to battle it out but Marty quickly drops his stick. Chase goes right after and Fabio wins, with Jane being the last one standing overall. Impressive.

 

Back at camp, the battle between Marty and Alina to stay in the game begins. Both campaign hard but it's Sash who steps in and asks his alliance to save Marty. He promised him back when the idol was handed over that he would keep him safe for one week if he found himself in danger.

 

At tribal council, Marty calls Jane out for being the biggest threat to win the million dollars. How anyone else doesn't see it besides him is beyond me. Alina tries to put the target onto Marty, calling him the biggest strategist in the game but the fact that Alina knew NaOnka took the food from camp and is an unpredictable player was enough for Libertad. They voted her out and she becomes the first member of the jury.

 

Survivor: Nicaragua airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
