Dancing with the Stars Season 11

by Gabrielle Abrams

Dancing with the Stars celebrated their 200th episode this week. The dance teams performed last night with such vigor and were both so well done. One team stood out from the other though and Team Apolo was given an encore dance for the start of the show.

Brandy and Maks along with Bristol and Mark were brought out to start off the elimination. Brandy and Maks were the first safe couple of the evening (no big surprise there) while Bristol and Mark will spend another week in jeopardy.

Awards were given out to alumni dancers of the show. The first award was the Most Dramatic Moment Award. The recipient of the award was Marie Osmond for when she passed out on the show. Why didn't her partner catch her?

The Broadway touring cast of Mary Poppins performed next. They performed their very upbeat, tap number "Step in Time." The chimney sweepers were tap dancing in the front while Mary Poppins flew away on her umbrella in the background. The only thing the number was missing was Bert's upside walk and tap dance along the frame of the stage that normally happens during that song.

Taylor Swift was the next guest performer singing a song from her newest album called "Mine." Taylor Swift always looks adorable on stage and even rocks out with her sparkly guitar.

The next award handed out was the Best, Worst Dancer Award. This award had a handful of deserving nominees but the winner deserved it. Kenny Mayne went home with the "Two Left Feet" award.

Rick and Cheryl and Jennifer and Derek were the next two couples to be given their results on the dance floor. Jennifer and Derek were the 2nd couple safe of the night, leaving Rick and Cheryl to be in jeopardy.

The next award given out was aimed at the professional male dancers. The Biggest Dancer Transformation was awarded to Louis Van Amstel. He was given a ponytail in a frame.

Rod Stewart was the third guest performer of the night though he did not sound the best. He did try some lovely dance moves though. Professional dancers made the performance more enjoyable.

A hilarious video compiling the judges best moments was shown. Full of Carrie's emotional moments, Len's best insults and Bruno being, well, Bruno.

Next two couples up for inspection were Kyle and Lacey along with Kurt and Anna. After some nervous moments Kyle and Lacey joined the other two couples in jeopardy while Kurt and Anna were promised a spot in next week's show.

Taylor Swift performed another one of her songs "White Horse." She is certainly a fun performer to watch because she always seems to be having so much fun and loving what she does.

Another video was shown about the stress all the competitors deal with on a weekly level. Many of the stars spoke about worrying about what could go wrong instead of staying positive.

The three couples left in jeopardy were brought out once again. Bristol and Mark were the first couple told that they were safe, a shocker of the show. That left Kyle and Lacey and Rick and Cheryl to learn their fate after the annoyingly timed commercial break.

Kyle and Lacey will be strutting their stuff again during next week's performance. Sadly this means that Rick and Cheryl are leaving the show.

Did Rick and Cheryl deserve to be kicked of the show tonight? What do you think?
