The Biggest Loser 10: Episode 6 Recap

Last night on The Biggest Loser, it was the biggest twist yet for the cast: only one person's weigh-in would count this week as the battle of the weakest links began. Per usual, the other team got to choose who it would be, so the plotting began and everyone began to size up the other team, even though, let's be honest, it's a given on both sides of the fence.

This week's breakthrough: Frado. Ever since the beginning of the season, he's been the papa rooster, the one making all the calls. Well, we find out that he uses anger as a defense mechanism and he's trying to be overly macho. Perhaps he's feeling guilty about his sideswipe of Rick last week? One can only hope.

Elizabeth realizes she's run out of everyone's patience when it comes to her excuses and that she needs to step it up before they kick her off the ranch. Jillian uses that fear to seize control of Elizabeth and run (or "cardio") her into the ground.

The pop challenge this week was a cooking challenge, where each team had to choose its own dish to make. Frado went with the dish he liked less, but only because it was easier and he didn't think his team could do a very good job of cookie.

Cue the Black Team losing to Blue, which causes Frado to lose it even though he was the one who convinced everyone else to go for the easier dish. He starts to clash with Brendan and then shuts down, alienating himself from the rest of the team. Meanwhile, the Blue Team gets a 10-second advantage in the main challenge.

The next day, it's a rowing challenge, where they have to row their boat on a 500-yard course, which I'm sure is much harder than it sounds. Even with the 10-second advantage, the Blue Team barely wins, giving them the ability to block Black's first pick of weak link on their team.

At the weigh-in, Blue chooses Elizabeth (shock number 1) and Black chooses Jessica (shock number 2). Blue decides that they'll "make a statement" a.k.a. take the high road and not block the decision. The weigh-in results were as follows:

Blue Team
Mark: -16 (-4.55%)
Adam: -13 (-3.88%)
Lisa: -8 (-3.17%)
Jesse: -9 (-2.95%)
Aaron: -9 (-2.21%)
**Jessica: -4 (-1.61%)

Black Team
Frado: -14 (-4.55%)
Brendan: -11 (-3.51%)
Patrick: -9 (2.60%)
**Elizabeth: -5 (-2.29%)
Ada: -4 (-1.86%)
Anna: -3 (-1.05%)

Strategy starts to creep into the house again as Adam is put up on the chopping block (Even though both Aaron and Jessica fell below Elizabeth's loss). But why not? He has the golden medallion that's growing with power every week! So that causes a fault that splits the vote in two: three for Jessica, three for Adam.

At this point, I'm just as shocked as you are. Even more shocking, the tiebreaker is no longer weight loss, but it's letting the other team decides who goes home--so the Black Team obviously chooses the much bigger threat Adam.

At home, Adam has made leaps and bounds of progress. He's lost 58 more pounds, putting him at a total of down 138 pounds. He's also started working with the YMCA to try and get his community to lose weight with him.
