Yve Rojas from Survivor: Nicaragua

On last night's Survivor: Nicaragua, both tribes were sent to tribal council following a reward/individual immunity challenge. Only Holly and Jill were safe from the votes and two threats were sent packing. At the first tribal council, La Flor decided to get rid of Kelly B, concerned that her artificial leg would guarantee her the million if she made it to the end. Right after, Espada voted Yve out, feeling that she was playing the game too hard for their liking. Today, we spoke to Yve in an exclusive interview about her experiences playing Survivor.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Were you a fan of Survivor? What made you want to try out?
A. Yve: Absolutely! I really got hooked on Guatemala. When I realized you don't have to be 20 and beautiful to win the game, I sent in applications and videos.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did you do any preparation before heading to Nicaragua?
A. Yve: The most preparation I probably did was just rewatching different episodes and the strategies. As far as the elements and survival, I knew that was never going to be an issue. I could've outlasted if that was one of the bigger categories.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was your reaction when you found out the tribes would be separated according to age?
A. Yve: Actually, I was happy. When it was over 40, I was like, "I'm in the right place." Our spirit is always young. It's our bodies that start to age and slow down. I applauded it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: There were so many people trying to lead Espada this season. Do you think it ended up being a problem for the tribe?
A. Yve: I really found it quite fascinating to watch the men and how they spoke to one another. I missed JJ. He was sincere and was inspiring. The others... Tyrone, JT... it was just interesting observing people who, at some point, felt that they were owed the position of the leader. I spoke up a number of times. I wish that was shown.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Do you think Dan is using his weakness as a strategy?
A. Yve: Oh absolutely not! There's no way his weakness is his strategy. Maybe that was Jeff's definition of his strategy but I don't think that was Dan's. If he says that's his strategy, those are words put in his mouth. He was just out there. He was miserable the entire time. For someone like me who was really playing, I don't know how you can voluntarily be a part of something and curse it so often.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Does it make you happy, in some way, that your tribe voted you out because they perceived you as a threat?
A. Yve: Yeah, absolutely, considering my edits made it look like I didn't do much especially with Marty. Early on, we did some strategizing in Spanish and those moments were classic. It was a secret alliance with Jill. We were rarely ever seen together. Things were working out well on Espada. I would much prefer going out with that reference.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was the best part about playing Survivor?
A. Yve: To be in the game - period! To want something so badly and then end up there was amazing. I just loved the personal challenge. I knew I could do it and I was right. All in all, it was such an amazing, yet very brutal, experience. It's hard to define it. Not negatively, not positively.
