Sophia Franklin from The Biggest Loser Season 10

Last week, on The Biggest Loser, it was a double elimination and two more women were sent home. The dreaded red line made an appearance, taking out Sophia, who lost 2 pounds. Today, we spoke to Sophia in an exclusive interview about what made her decide to try out for the show, why she didn't want to be a gameplayer, and how she's progressing at home with her weight loss.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you decide to try out for The Biggest Loser and change your life?
A. Sophia: I had posted on my Facebook that there was an open casting call for The Biggest Loser. My friends wanted me to go but I couldn't because I had a paper to write. They convinced me to go and I got there super late. I was in total denial when I found out that I made the show.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Have you watched the show before? What was the biggest surprise about actually being on The Biggest Loser as opposed to watching it on tv?
A. Sophia: I watch the show every season. I love it! I used to watch it sitting on my couch eating ice cream. That's definitely change! I think the biggest thing that's different is that I thought there was someone doing hair and makeup for weigh-ins. I thought someone cleaned the house. Uh uh! There was no hair and makeup, there's no maid service, no. You live your life. You're just confined to one space.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How tempted were you to go all out in the temptation challenge when you saw just how powerful the reward was?
A. Sophia: I wasn't tempted whatsoever. I did not go on that show to do temptations. I went on that show to lose weight. This is gonna sound crazy but it wasn't about doing a tv show. It was about me getting healthy and losing the weight. Being in that isolation gave me the opportunity to mourn my brother's death. It wasn't even in my mind. I was not a gameplayer. I was in bed by 9 every night. I didn't know the drama that was going on in the house. I was always like, "What? What happened?!"

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was the sentiment of the group after Adam won?
A. Sophia: Adam definitely had some people that weren't too fond of him.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: It's been fairly evident that this year's yellow line twist has consistently put most of the women in danger every week. Why do you think that was?
A. Sophia: It's basic genetics. It's basic physics. Men are going to lose weight quicker. If you look at it as gameplay and the yellow line, then so be it. I look at it like I lost weight every week. I never threw a weigh-in, I never did any type of craziness. It's the way that you approach the show and the game. I actually like the yellow line because I liked having to compete.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Going into the weigh-in, were you confident about your weight loss for the week?
A. Sophia: I thought I had a solid 4 in my pocket. I was shocked by my 2 because I had worked so fast. When they said "red line", I got nervous. I stayed up late and got off my schedule that was giving me those numbers that I needed. I flipped out and busted my butt and my body doesn't work that way. My body needs rest.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When you saw you only lost two pounds, what was the first thing that went through your head?
A. Sophia: I was like, "At least it's not a 0!" Every pound that comes off, I'm happy about. I'm never going to be upset about a 1 or a 2. It's a pound gone. I'm never going to see it again... until I get pregnant. I can't get pregnant until I get married and I can't get married until I have a boyfriend!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What is your ultimate goal now that you're back at home?
A. Sophia: Yes, I do! Right now, I need to lose about 38 more pounds until I reach my goal.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How are you working to maintaining your weight?
A. Sophia: Well, right now, this past month has been very hard for me. I'm pretty beat up. I have a couple back injuries I'm dealing with. I'm in the pool a lot. I'm working out with my trainer who's phenomenal. He couldn't be any more amazing. Once I can hit the ground running again, literally, I will be on the back trail, biking, doing 10Ks but right now, I need to let my body heal.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What advice do you have for someone who may want to try out for The Biggest Loser but is worried they don't have enough time?
A. Sophia: I would say there's always time to save your life. If you wanna try out for The Biggest Loser, you need to be ready to bare your soul. You can't keep anything in. They need to know who they're about to put on their show.
