On last night's episode of America's Next Top Model, Lexie, the Uma Thurman lookalike from Geneva, Illinois, was eliminated. The judges felt that her photos didn't show an investment in the competition, and she was the fifth girl to be sent home. We caught up with Lexie to talk about her rivalry with fellow contestant Kacey, what really goes on during deliberation, and what's coming up next for her.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: What made you want to get into modeling?
A. Lexie: I don't know exactly...I've always been interested in it, and I've wanted to do it ever since I was little. Growing up to be tall and being able to do it was convenient.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: You made a comment on last night's episode that it might seem like you were there for fun, but you really wanted to win. Looking back, do you feel that you were portrayed as someone who didn't take the competition seriously enough?
A. Lexie: No, I think I was portrayed appropriately. I'm competetive and I wanted to win, but it wasn't the world to me. Even if I didn't win, I could still have a career in the future...it's about learning along the way and what you do afterwards.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: You had a very well-documented rivalry with Kacey on the show. Were there other girls you didn't get along with in the house?
A. Lexie: I didn't really get along with Anamaria...we didn't fight, but she wasn't a friend. [Otherwise], I'm friends with all of them. We all talk on Facebook, and I definitely keep in touch with Ann and Rhianna.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: Which photo shoot was your favorite, and why?
A. Lexie: The Matthew Rolston photo shoot - working with him was absolutely incredible and the photos turned out great. I love beauty shots.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: Give us some behind the scenes info. What do all the girls do while the panel is deliberating?
A. Lexie: There were cameras, and I'm surprised none of it aired! We sit in a holding room, we eat, and we talk. We discuss what we think is gonna happen; on last night's episode, Jane was really upset and worried about going home, and I was like, "No I'm definitely going home."
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: Coming to that conclusion in the holding room, were you upset about potentially going home, or did you accept it?
A. Lexie: I accepted that I was going home; it was weird because that environment was my life for a long period of time, and I was freaked out about what would happen directly afterwards. But I wasn't upset, I saw it coming.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: What's coming up next for you?
A. Lexie: I'm still going to pursue modeling, but I'm definitely looking into acting. I'm gonna get my start in Chicago and then branch out. I want to act more in movies than television.
