The Biggest Loser 10: Episode 3 Recap

The Biggest Loser 10

Last night on The Biggest Loser, people started getting what I like to call the "First Elimination Fever." It's when they realize they're actually on the show and people are actually getting eliminated...so they start doing stupid things.

Case in point: Lisa says she wants to go home because she lives near Allie (last week's vote-off) and she wanted to go be her support system at home. Delusional and bad. Even worse, Tina admits she took $16,000 from her 401K to go on vacation with her family. Money and wanting to go home? That's a huge check in everyone's minds for voting Tina off.

Even though it was very clear Tina wanted to go home (and would do anything to make it happen), the show dragged on. Bob taught the contestants what a circuit workout was, i.e. kicking their butts over and over again in the same cycle of ways. The contestants were not fans, and Bob threatened to break Patrick's legs, then beat him with them. Then, Jesse set Bob off and everyone had to do another circuit. At this point, I wouldn't care about Tina, because these guys look completely in pain...because of Jesse.

Anna Kournikova came out of nowhere in her neon pink tennis dress, leaving the guys speechless. But her point wasn't to stand there and look hot (at least, not her primary point), it was to teach the contestants tennis! And they loved every minute of it.

This week's challenge was straight out of Survivor in a sadly non-competitive week: each player had a cylinder that could fit so many tennis balls. Each contestant had to drop tennis balls into the others' cylinders until they overflowed, and the last one with a cylinder not full won immunity.

Tina was first out since everyone made a beeline for her canister, then it started to fetter out amongst the other contestants. Burgandy was next, she thought it was because people were threatned of her speed. I'm still waiting for her to tear open her purple shirt and do a Hulk scream. Brendan, Frado and Patrick were the final three (making their friendship/alliance very obvious to the rest of the group) and Frado takes home the safety.

Enter Jillian, who's pissed that the women have a "Kumbayah spirit." Translation: she's mad they suck and they're all falling below the yellow line. So she screamed at them and made them exercise until they passed out. Sounds like a good fix to me!

Then it was weigh-in time--the results were as follows:

Frado: -3 (-0.88%) [immune]
Adam: -12 (-3.26%)
Patrick: -12 (-3.17%)
Jesse: -10 (-2.95%)
Mark: -11 (-2.89%)
Jessica: -7 (-2.61%)
Rick: -8 (-2.55%)
Ada: -6 (-2.50%)
Sophia: -6 (-2.33%)
Lisa: -5 (-1.84%)
Tina: -4 (-1.62%)

Aaron: -7 (-1.60%) [saved]
Brendan: -5 (-1.51%)
Elizabeth: -3 (-1.29%)
Burgandy: -1 (-0.46%)

Just like every other season, it was the second week curse. No longer do we see losses of 30 and 40 pounds, but the women still mostly fall below the yellow line. Frado falls clearly at the bottom, but immunity saves him. This week's biggest loser, Adam, also gets to save someone and, despite Burgandy's pleas, he picks Aaron.

The other six still have hope! Each of them had to find a ring in lumps of sand. But not just any lumps of sand--dump-truck sized lumps of sad. Elizabeth snagged the first ring, followed by Sophia, then Brendan. Lisa starts pitching a fit because all of a sudden she doesn't want to go home (what?), but Burgandy prevails with the fourth ring.

Not to worry, though, Lisa, because Tina barely makes a case for herself in front of the jury, so it's a unanimous vote for her to go home.

Lucky for Tina, she's doing much better at home. She looks great and she's started working out with her daughter, who lost 80 pounds herself! Talk about paying it forward, huh?
