Big Brother Season 12

by Sandhurst Miggins

Okay ladies and gentlemen, let's go. I think it is safe to say that we saw those nominations coming this week on Big Brother. Britney and Monet have made it no secret that they dislike Rachel with a passion so obviously, it came as no surprise that Rachel nominated them for eviction, right? Well, I guess the only people who were surprised were Britney and Monet. Britney was brought to tears by her nomination, overwhelmed by the fact that she is both a have not and up on the block.

Monet, on the other hand, thinks Rachel is threatened by her. Um, what? You spend every episode talking about Rachel behind her back and she's threatened by you? For that matter, I'm actually threatened by Monet. Every other comment is, "I want to inflict bodily harm on Rachel." Please don't pick up where Chima left off. These two girls are showing the world they have never watched the Big Brother, claiming that there nomination was purely personal. Get over it!

Anyway, the rest of the house can really care less about the nominees. The Brigade's only wish is that they win the Veto to cement their stronghold.

Cue the campaigning nominees. Britney is first to plead her case, fully equipped with all the waterworks and theatrics. Somehow, the display works on Rachel and she begins to open up to Britney about who her true target is. Oh Rachel, when will you learn? After Britney leaves and is all of a sudden back in control of her emotions, she quickly runs to alert Monet about Rachel's plans. I'm sorry Brit, but why would you do that? If it isn't Monet, it's going to be you.

On another note, Matt begins to employ his premeditated strategy, telling everyone that his wife has a debilitating disease in order to gain sympathy from the housemates. Too bad the first person he tells is Andrew, the doctor. Andrew isn't buying it but is going along with it for the time being. Matt keeps coming up with these elaborate plans to take the target off of himself but to me, it just puts the magnifying glass even closer.

It's time to choose the players for the POV competition. Rachel gets the Houseguest's choice and surprise, surprise chooses Brendon. Monet picks Lane and Britney chooses Enzo. The three leading alliances are all equally represented - the Lovers, the Brigade and the Mean Girls. Ragan is chosen as the host. The "Big Brother Stock Exchange" is a simple competition in theory. Each person has to estimate an hour of time by dropping their briefcase when they think they have approached 60 minutes without going over. Sounds easy enough but it's blistering hot and have you really tried to count the 3600 seconds in an hour.

The first to drop was Britney followed by Enzo, Lane, Brenden, Monet, and then Rachel. At the end of the competition, it was Britney who came out on top with the only time that didn't go over. Sucks for Monet!

Rachel and Brendon are upset about Britney's win but are okay with Monet still being on the block. The Brigade starts to panic as Britney's win means someone new has to be put up for eviction. The Mean Girls start to scheme to keep Monet in the house by trying to convince Rachel to backdoor Andrew. They both do the whole: "We'll save you next week speech" and Rachel for some reason is buying it.

So it's not looking too good for Andrew at this point but then out of the blue, Matt comes to Rachel and basically offers himself up as a pawn. Rachel is skeptical but Brendon likes the idea. Matt thinks that with the Brigade behind him, he is basically immune and thinks that it will make him look good in the house's eyes for taking one for the team. Ragan thinks Matt is insane, while Hayden confesses he would never have done it but everyone appreciates the move. Well, that I, everyone except Rachel who is trying to appease Britney and Monet with putting Andrew up. In the end Rachel's final act as HOH was to put... drumroll please... Matt up for eviction, which only pisses off Monet and Britney more.

Don't miss the live eviction on Big Brother, tonight at 8/7c on CBS.
