Recently, we sat down to chat with Courtney from VH1’s Tough Love: Couples. She joined RealityWanted.com and was quickly cast on the show, along with her boyfriend, Dustin. Tough Love: Couples is currently airing on VH1. Keep reading for our exclusive interview with her about her success on RealityWanted, her experience on the show, and more.

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: Did you watch Tough Love in the past? Was there any hesitation in doing the show?
A. Courtney: I had watched the show in the past, but that didn’t change my mind about wanting to apply. I knew I needed help and was in some denial.

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: How did you find out about the casting call?
A. Courtney: I was a member of RealityWanted.com and would check the site daily. When I saw the Tough Love listing, I applied and sent in a photo. I hit send and thought I’d never hear back but the very next day I got a call from the producers! I had to tell Dustin about it after the call.

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: What did Dustin think?
A. Courtney: He had seen the show before, but didn’t take it too seriously. He just thought it would be cool and wanted to be on TV.

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: Do you get emails from fans saying that watching you and Dustin on the show has helped them?
A. Courtney: People have emailed saying they were in very similar situations. I was pleasantly surprised and am so honored that people are asking me for help.

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: Did the show ultimately help your relationship?
A. Courtney: I took a lot away from being on the show. We had a problem of being honest on both sides. I look back and wonder what the hell I was thinking. It has definitely made me a better person, in a healthier relationship. People will be surprised at the end of the show!

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: What was the best moment from the show?
A. Courtney: When the cameras weren’t rolling, we had so much fun. One night all the couples got hammered, we had a cook out and a hot tub party. It was a blast! We are all really good friends now. I was afraid initially to go on the show because there were so many east coast girls and I thought they were more intense, but we’re all really good friends now.  Another great moment was the first time all us girls put on wedding dresses. We had a pow-wow in our dresses and just chatted.  I wish they had shown some of these moments on the show!

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: Was there a time during filming that you wanted to quit the show?
A. Courtney: There came a breaking point near the end of the show when we were the only couple broken up in the house. I wanted to go home, but when I thought about it and cooled off, I was fine and knew it was for the best.

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: Do you still keep in touch with any of the couples?
A. Courtney: I’m friends with all of them, but I regularly talk to Danielle and Pawel, Dennis and Simone, and Heather and Larry.

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: As someone who started as a member of RealityWanted just watching reality TV to becoming an applicant applying and being on TV: what kind of tips can you give to people who are trying to get on TV using RealityWanted?
A. Courtney: I would say just be yourself throughout the entire process. Casting directors want to get to know who are you are; they want to know the real you. You need to keep consistency with your answers and you need to continue to be yourself, as lame as that sounds. A lot of people apply for thousands of shows, but I looked for the show that was right for me. It worked out and now I’m on Tough Love. Find the show that fits you.

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: Do you have anything to say to your fans?
A. Courtney: I just want to thank you all for the support that I’m getting on the show. I was away from my family, and my job, and everyone was so supportive! I want to remind people that when you see someone on TV you think you know them, but you don’t, so don’t be judgmental.

Q. Kristal, RealityWanted: What are your favorite reality TV shows?
A. Courtney: I love reality TV and watch it all the time! Some of my favorite shows are Brandy & Ray J: The Family Business and Basketball Wives. I’m a MTV junkie! I still love Real World, and like Fresh Meat. I also love So You Think You Can Dance.

Don’t miss Tough Love: Couples, airing on VH1 Monday at 9pm EST/PST.
