It's down to the final six on American Idol but the results will come in good time. Tonight's live results episode kicks off with a performance by Rascal Flatts, singing their latest hit, "Unstoppable". That's followed up with perhaps the cheesiest Ford commercial by the Idols of all time, in which they're vampires scared away by a pizza with extra garlic. Seriously, somebody got paid to come up with that concept.

 

The top six got to meet with the director of Shrek Forever After this week and have some fun in the studio with him, then got to see an exclusive screening of the movie. Stars in the house! Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas join Ryan Seacrest on stage to plug the movie just a little bit more... as if we weren't sold on going already!

 

Time for some results and the contestants are split into three groups of two. They are: Siobhan and Lee, Aaron and Crystal, and Mike and Casey. As soon as Crystal joins Aaron at the center of the stage, I know he's safe. Any other week, he'd probably be in trouble but country is really his niche and he definitely gave a performance worth of staying. Seacrest goes and gets Siobhan, asks her to watch towards the couches, then stops her in her tracks in front of Mike and Casey and declares them the bottom three. Sometimes, I think Idol is produced by Satan himself.

 

If you were ever to be in the audience of an American Idol taping, this could be the one. First Cameron and Antonio, now Carrie Underwood makes an appearance to introduce a band she took on tour with her this year, Sons of Sylvia, who sang their song "Love Left To Lose". Sons of Sylvia won the show The Great American Band and have been tight with Carrie since she won Idol five years ago.

 

Next to take the stage is one of the hottest country acts out there right now, Lady Antebellum, performing their triple platinum hit, "Need You Now". Word of advice: see them live. They're worth it.

 

The performances aren't over yet. Shakira is joined by Rascal Flatts for her new song, "Gypsy".  All I can say is: What the hell was that?

Big Mike is sent to safety.  Cue Big Mike's wife spaz attack in the audience. 

 

The person leaving American Idol is Siobhan.  Surprised?
