America's Best Dance Crew Season 5

by Danae Young

This week on America’s Best Dance Crew, there are only three crews left! Who will bring it hard this week to make it to the finals on April 8th?

The top crew announced first with a guaranteed spot into the finals is Blueprint Cru.

The challenge this week is to incorporate the three of the country’s most difficult dance moves: South New Orleans Bounce, East Baltimore House, and West Turfin’.

Blueprint Cru isn’t very familiar with these moves considering they are from Canada, so they had a minor setback. Omarion felt like they did the challenge pretty well after he knew they would have some difficulty with it. JC Chasez didn’t love the Baltimore section but he enjoyed the hand weaving section. Lil Mama thought they were taken out of their element and found the routine funny, which is not exactly a word I would want to hear if I was Blueprint Cru.

Hype 5-0 and Poreotix had to battle it out for the final spot in next week’s finale.

Poreotix was a little worried due to their horrible case of ABD (Asian Booty Disease), which means they have no booty to dance with. JC Chasez thinks they’re funny dudes and thought they really handled their business in their performance. Omarion said it was the first time he felt they came out in full and thought it was a “great, great performance.” It was so good he used great twice! Lil Mama named it a “smooth criminal” performance and added it was flawless.

Hype 5-0 wants to make sure they really stay true to themselves this week. Lil Mama said they made sure every second the audience saw something different. Omarion loved that they dissed the other two crews in their performance, which I didn’t even notice until the replay! JC Chasez was pleasantly surprised and thought they really got back to being themselves with lots of passion on stage.

The judges had a tough decision to make, but when it came down to it they chose Poreotix to join Blueprint Cru in the live season finale! It was a well-deserved spot for both crews.

Hype 5-0 brought tears to my eyes with their emotional exit.

The Last Chance Challenge was up next for the remaining two crews to show America they deserve the title of America’s Best Dance Crew. Each crew created their own choreography, picked out their own outfits, and chose their own music with the help of producer Swizz Beatz.

Blueprint Cru had a theatrical performance to their creation, “Come to Life.”

Poreotix created “Tetreotix” by adding their video game style of dance.

At the end of the episode Swizz Beatz joined the two crews on stage.
