Bea Hennington from Solitary 4.0

We knew her as #7, the missionary and the Solitarian who had the heart for the game. Unfortunately, though, Bea Hennington's journey ended on Solitary. She's the sixth person to leave the show. RealityWanted caught up with Bea to find out what it was like to live in the pod and how's life been without Val.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: Bea, I heard you heard about Solitary 4.0 through RealityWanted.com. Tell us more.

A. Bea: I had joined RealityWanted.com on March 2009 and saw the posting in May. I didn't know what Solitary was. I checked it out on Hulu and said "I could to that." I applied. I got on the show. It was just the third show that I applied to on the website. I said, "this was way too easy. What's going on?"

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: Describe your experience.

A. Bea: It was the craziest and surreal thing. You know you are on a show, but you never see the sound guys, the camera guys, or anyone. It kind of messes up with your mind. It's completely draining. It was hard emotionally and physically. I underestimated the show. I thought it looked easy. And, had no idea how tough it was going to be.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: Which treatment was the hardest?

A. Bea: In the golf game and spinning treatment, what you didn't see ... there's a bolt in the helmet. Any challenge that required upper body strength like the twister treatment was hard. I thought it was unfair to chicks. During the "monkeying around" treatment, I skipped the "ground slaps" because they felt like doing push-ups. I kept finding myself doing penalty rounds and kept eating bananas, after bananas, after more bananas. I ate 30 bananas. My belly looked pregnant.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: We saw moments of you vulnerable. Is that really your true personality?

A. Bea: You saw me at my absolute worst, especially when I was behind bars. That's me being pushed to my limits.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: We also saw moments that were hilarious like the time you let go of the rope early during a challenge where you had to "fish" for keys.

A. Bea: I was shocked and couldn't believe it happened. Half of me said, "you are not that dumb. You didn't just lose the rope." Then, after I was able to get the rope by using my foot and the brown paper bag, I tied the rope around my wrist so I wouldn't let go of it the second time.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: What's the hardest part living in the pod?

A. Bea: Lack of sleep. Every time we got food, I'd ask for an hour of sleep instead. I was denied. That was ridiculous.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: When you learned you were the first one to quit the treatment where you sat on a chair, covered with sharp, metal pegs, what went through your mind?

A. Bea: I was relieved. I was upset because I wanted to stay, but also dying to get out.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: When you left Solitary, what were the first things you did?

A. Bea: I ordered pizza, took three showers, and shaved twice. Weird enough, I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: What did you learn about yourself while you were on Solitary?

A. Bea: I learned that I was stronger than I gave myself credit for. I talked to Val a lot, and I told her I don't celebrate the small victories. For example, when I got my Master's degree, I didn't even go to graduation. And, on the show, I did let myself finally celebrate the small wins.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: Who do you think will win Solitary?

A. Bea: I think #6 is going to win. I want #3 to win. I really wanted #7 to win.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: What's next for Bea?

A. Bea: I'm a teacher and I'm still doing that. I'm still applying for other shows. When I got out, I was like, wait, I want to go back. That, and finding a man and getting married.

Q. Maureen, RealityWanted: Any advice for those who want to get on a reality show?

A. Bea: I would say, give it your best effort. Don't take it too seriously if you don't get on a show you applied for. There might be something else out there for you. That happened to me. I had a few shows looking at me, and then Solitary pulled through. There is something else around the corner that's made for you.

Solitary 4.0 airs Saturdays at 10/9c on Fox Reality.
