Survivor: Samoa - Finale

by Gina Scarpa

Tonight’s finale of Survivor: Samoa could be filled with surprises, blindsides, and jaw dropping moments… or it can go the way many of us have felt for weeks and weeks now.  Russell walks away with a million dollars to put in his bank account.  Whether or not Russell wins tonight depends on several key factors from winning immunity challenges to Natalie and Jaison staying true to him to the jury voting for him because he played the best game.  Taking everything into account, here’s how I see things going down on tonight’s Survivor: Samoa finale.

5. Brett Clouser
Considering that he hasn’t been that much of a physical force this season, I find it hard to believe that Brett would win immunity for a third time in a row.  Knowing that every single one of his friends is sitting on the jury, any Foa Foa member would be crazy to keep him in the game.  They’ll be looking to snuff that torch the first chance they get.

4. Mick Trimming
Mick has been uneasy about Russell for a few weeks now and Russell knows it.  It’s clear that Brett will be the first target but Mick is probably next in line.  I don’t think Jaison or Natalie will have a problem getting rid of him, if it means they live to see another day.  Mick doesn’t have anyone who would never write his name down (a la Stephen and JT of Survivor: Tocantins) and that’s going to become a big problem for him tonight.  He’s gonna need to cut some kind of deal - and fast.

3. Natalie White
After reading what I say about Jaison, you could say that the same rings true for Natalie.  However, Natalie played a much better social game.  She obviously knows that she’s no physical threat so she needed to rely on her social skills.  She formed a strong alliance Day 1 with Russell and stayed true to it.  She’s well liked by everybody and that makes her dangerous to sit next to in that final tribal council.  Unfortunately, much as I like her, she needs to be cut loose before it’s time to vote for the million.

2. Jaison Robinson
Let’s say it’s Russell’s choice to take someone to the end and let’s say that there’s only a final two this season.  Why wouldn’t he take Jaison?  What did Jaison exactly do this season?  He made no decisions, he wasn’t the brains behind the operation, he didn’t really connect personally with any of the jury members… he’s a non-factor.  I just don’t see the guy bringing in votes so for all players left in the game, Jaison is the guy you want to take to the end.

1. Russell Hantz
Considering that everyone remaining in the game is a nice person who played a nice game, they may think that taking Russell to the end is their best shot of winning.  They’ll hope that the jury votes with the hearts instead of their minds because the bottom line is: Russell is the best Survivor ever.  He overcame odds, he formed strong alliances, he played a strong physical game, he anticipated where the game was going, and he didn’t try to hide the fact that he was a dirty player.  Russell should win the million tonight… whether he has money or not… whether he was nice or not… he’s the best.  Period.
