America's Best Dance Crew Season 4

by Danae Young

This week on America’s Best Dance Crew, it’s the final three! The remaining three crews really need to prove they are in it to win it because this episode determines which two crews are in the finals.

The challenge this week is the Decades of Dance Challenge that includes 5 different decades including: 2000s-Lady Gaga, 1990s-Usher, 1980s-Paula Abdul, 1970s-Rock Steady, and 1960s-James Brown. This makes for a very interesting combination of musical artists and their incredibly different styles of dance.

Afroborike was the number one crew this week so they get an automatic spot in the season finale next week. Shane Sparks thought their performance was a great concept but the transitions were kind of slow. Lil Mama noticed they kept the same style throughout most of the performance and thinks they took the easy route. JC Chasez said they are great entertainers with big dramatic moves but they really need to blow the judges away next week.

Massive Monkees and We Are Heroes have a lot of pressure on them to really prove they deserve a spot in the finals next week.

Massive Monkees performs first. Lil Mama thought they managed to put the right energy and charisma behind each decade. JC said their arms got sloppy during the James Brown section but his favorite part was the Paula Abdul section. Shane simply said they had both strong and slow moments.

Up next was We Are Heroes representing for the ladies. JC said they showed how much heart and guts they have and thought it was a fantastic performance. Shane loves their versatility and thought it was a great performance. Lil Mama said they took her through a “time theme machine.”

It seemed clear that after those comments, the judges would choose to send We Are Heroes into the finale next week. So unfortunately for Massive Monkees, they had to “walk it out” as their banner fell. They were so close to the finals but just couldn’t pull it together this week to outperform the women.

Now that Afroborike and We Are Heroes are named the top two crews of this season, they must lay it all on the table in the Last Chance Challenge where each crew gets to create their own wardrobe, music and choreography.

Afroborike chose an exciting African theme to prove they are willing to fight for the title. We Are Heroes went for a more powerful super hero theme. Whose fight tactics will prove stronger? After an outstanding performance by both crews, I’m pulling for the girls! But tune in next week to find out for sure!
