In the most fast paced episode to date, Big Brother's Thursday show held a surprise Coup D'etat both for the nominees and later for host Julie Chen. Beginning with the black and white recaps of Kaysar being the replacement nominee for Janelle, the show finally began and hardly gave the viewer a moment to step away from the screen as the producers kept the segments and live interviews flowing quickly. After the recaps, Kaysar stated he was not too happy and was going to do everything in his power to stay in the house, while James stated that Kaysar was the "best secondary target" for the new alliance of him, Will, Mike Boogie, and Dani now known as the Legion of Doom.  As the camera cleverly zooms in on the definition of deceit painted on the wall, James spoke with Janelle, assuring her that if he stays in the house, she has her vote to evict Dani should Janie win the HOH competition.  Kaysar cornered George in the storage room and requested his vote, though the "Chicken Man" would make no promises.  Erika told Kaysar she liked him better than anyone else in the house, while Boogie assured him he trusted him more than James.  Kaysar proposed a new final five consisting of him, Janie, Howie, and the Chill Town duo, and Boogie assured him it would be considered heavily.

Following Kaysar's campaign to stay in the house, the scene shifted to the houseguests all seated in the living room.  Julie asked the houseguests who competed in the veto competition if they were surprised at the number of prizes taken by their fellow housemates during the competition, and only Janelle and Dani answered in the affirmative.  She also asked George if he was prepared to go back on slop for the remainder of the game after being given a week's pass by Marcellas.  George wavered at first, and then replied that he could surely make it.

The segment scene featured in this episode consisted of interviews of the "Chill Town Moms".  Both Mike's and Will's mothers spoke to the viewers about what their sons were like as children and their thoughts on their current game play.  Will's mother exposed that Will has always been a little shy but also has always had a girlfriend and been a charmer.  She guaranteed the audience that his flirtations with Janelle were strictly for strategy, and voiced that her largest concern for her son this season was none other than "Big Boy" Howie himself.  She wished more than anything that Howie would stop his antics with her son and leave him alone.  The other statement on which she remained undaunted was Will's ability to win saying, "He'll go all the way...That's my boy...He's great!"  Boogie's mom, with his childhood pictures flashing simultaneously on the screen, admitted her son was chubby as a child until he took up speed-skating.  Calling him "Mike the Flirt", she said she not only thinks that he and Erika are friends and that they have a secret side alliance which will be revealed in time.  She also said that Mike and Will make great strategy together and enjoy being a bit evil.  She ended by stating, "I'm proud to be a Chill Town mom."

Then it was time for the mandatory private interview of the HOH Dani.  When questioned about why she asked to be given the HOH by Erika, she stated to Julie that she came in to this game to play, and that if she is taken out, she will be taken out fighting.  When asked if there were any ally in this house she believed she could trust other than herself, she answered James with slight hesitation in her voice.  She also stated she was stunned that her "allies" took so many prizes during the veto competition and apologized to her family for not taking the phone call home.

Next the nominees were interviewed.  James thanked America for another chance at the Big Brother house and then told his housemates to vote for what they feel is best for them in this game.  Kaysar basically stated the same thing though was sure to make it known that he attempted to play an honest and straightforward game and felt that he had garnered the respect of some housemates, while others not as much.  James was called first since the veto competition gave him a chance to nullify a vote.  Wisely, he nullified Janelle's, though it wouldn't have mattered anyhow.  By a vote of 5-1 that would have been 5-2 without the nullification, Kaysar was sent packing on his birthday.  He hugged his housemates goodbye and proceeded to his exit interview with Julie.  The first thing she inquired about was his relationship with James, to which he replied that he had hoped to repair it after the falling out they had last year.  When it was revealed to him what James has been doing with the Legion of Doom as well as the vicious statements he made about Janelle, Kaysar was clearly befuddled.  He said this just was not the game for him and that he can't wait to get back home to those who really love him.  Again he went into a brief diatribe about how he had tried to bring morality and integrity into the game, but that there were just too many daggers in the house for him to accomplish full-fledged avoidance.  He looked truly distraught about the dissolving of his alliance and learning that his friendships weren't of the strength and caliber he believed, stating, "I played for the team and the team didn't play for me...I was there for them...There were just too many daggers I couldn't avoid."  In the goodbyes, while some were heartfelt, others had no mercy for Kaysar.  Will certainly rubbed even more salt into this birthday wound when he said, "I told you so just doesn't even cut it," while his Chill Town partner Boogie said, "You should have come over to Chill Town earlier."

After Kaysar's exit, the audience was shown clips of the Big Brother Sance that was held to rid the house of the "ghosts of seasons past".  Allison, Josh, Eric/Cappy, Holly, and Bunky all made appearances and hilarious statements, including Allison's classic line, "Don't worry Janelle and Erika.  I'm not real, just like your, well, you know..." and Cappy returned to ask, "Whose fate is sealed now?"   The houseguests were instructed to pay close attention during the sance as it would provide the basis for the upcoming HOH competition.

For the HOH competition, the players answered questions about the sance in true or false manner.  Not only were people who answered incorrectly eliminated, but so was the last person to click their buzzer with the answer, whether correct or not, for that round.  While Erika won the competition and was crowned HOH, it was clear as it transpired that many players were becoming frustrated, and on one question in particular, while both Howie and James could be seen clicking the buzzer, it was not registering responses.  Howie and James both could be heard protesting in the background, and the mess was clear for the audience to see.  Even so, Julie went on to explain first to the viewers the full meaning of the Coup Detat, a special power that will last three weeks and allow the holder to overthrow the HOH's nominations at a moment's notice just prior to voting.  To win, the houseguest must figure out the phrase relating to Big Brother that the clues reveal.  Players are to answer in the diary room and are only aware that the correct answer will give them special power but don't have any idea as to what the power will be.  The first person to give the correct answer in the DR wins, but there is only one chance to answer, so contestants must be certain.  After the show aired on the West Coast, an announcement appeared on the CBS website that there would be a redo of the competition we watched live last night due to technical difficulties.  This competition has taken place and there is definitely a different "sherrif in town".  Tune in on Sunday night to find out who actually did win HOH and who was nominated as a result.  If you can't wait to find out, check back on the site tomorrow for a special update of the current house status.  In addition, be sure to go to www.cbs.com and find out how to vote for your favorite houseguest for prom queen or king.  The winner of the special title will get an unknown special power, so vote for your favorite houseguest early and often.
