Q. Mark, RealityWanted: Jah, thanks for taking the time to us today. How did you come across Reality Wanted?

A. Jah, Wingman: I was searching for casting calls when I came across Reality Wanted the name drew me in. I liked the fact I could try it out at no cost, so I built a profile. I figured it couldn’t hurt to put my name and picture up. Once I was done with that I started searching through the different listings and came across the show Fine Living Networks “Wingman”.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted: Wingman is a new show on the Fine Living Network.  When will that air?

A. Jan, Wingman: My show airdates are May 2 at 3:30pm, and again on May 9 at 5:30pm.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted: Awesome. Now when you were searching through the listings what drew you to Wingman?

A. Jah, Wingman: I really liked the description of the show. It stars comedian Mike Summerville, and basically he goes out with each person and shows them how to improve their dating techniques.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted: How did you get contacted by the casting directors?

A. Jah, Wingman: The casting directors sent me an email about an open casting call in the city in November, so I went down and auditioned.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted: What happened at the audition?

A. Jah, Wingman: When I got to the audition there were two casting directors and they started asking me questions about my dating style and the problems I have had in the past. I just tried to be myself and stand out. About three weeks later, right before Christmas, they contacted me telling me I made the show.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted: What was the waiting period like for you? Were you waiting by the phone or were you more relaxed?

A. Jah, Wingman: You know I felt I had a good audition and put my best foot forward, so I was a little more relaxed. It’s the industry and you can’t just sit around and wait. You have to try and relax.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted: When you were auditioning, did you see others going about things in the wrong way?

A. Jah, Wingman: Yeah, I saw people trying to do too much. They were trying to hard to be someone they weren’t. It helps to do something to stand out, but you have to be yourself and put your best attribute forward. I’m a funny guy so I tried to work that in.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted: What was your experience like on the show?

A. Jah, Wingman: It was a lot of fun. I got to meet a lot of cool people. It was taped in New York, so I got to go to parties, clubs, and I hung out with two models that were actually from the show. I really liked the show because I got to play myself.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted: Have you had any other exposure aside from Wingman?

A. Jah, Wingman: Yeah, I actually had the Tyra Banks show contact me. I was also on Maury as a model and on CBS as a model. I had a few parts in small movies, and I was also in some music videos.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted: What would you tell readers on the site about auditioning?

A. Jah, Wingman: You have to think about what you are going for. You have to be yourself and don’t give up.  It’s like the lottery. The odds of getting a part are low, but if this is something you want to do you can’t give up. It is stressful.

Mark, RealityWanted: Alright Jah, thanks for checking out the site and good luck in the future.

Jah, Wingman: I just want to say another big thank you to RealityWanted. I’m still checking out the listings, and always looking for new projects on the site.
