Love her or hate her, one thing is certain about American Idol’s Megan Joy Corkrey: she was honest and she was real.  When Simon gave her less than favorable feedback on this week's performance episode, she fired back, "I don't care."  Her comment dashed any hope that the judges would save her should she end up getting eliminated.  When Seacrest announced the she received the lowest numbers of votes, Simon told her that there was no way they were saving her so she danced around in front of the judges, performing her final song for America.  She'll head home to reunite with her son for a little while before getting ready to head out on tour with the Top 10.  Today, she spoke to reporters in a press conference call.  Keep reading to find out her thoughts on Simon and what she had to say about her strange behavior on last night's episode of American Idol.

On whether or not she knew she would be the one to go home…
"I really woke up on Wednesday feeling like I was going home no matter what. I felt like I was going home no matter what I did and said."

On why she flapped her wings when she was placed in the bottom three…

“I love birds and making bird noises, and if I'm going out, I'm going out with a bang. So I flew the whole time.”

On if she regretted telling Simon that she didn’t care about his feedback…
“No regrets ever. I wouldn't take anything back. I was happy to go the way I did. I just was honest. I cared about the competition. I didn't want people to misunderstand me not caring, I just didn't care that Simon didn't like my song. I couldn't help but be honest. He was pretty hard on me. I think that he likes me, maybe just as much as he did, but maybe just not for this competition. But I got no beef with Simon and I don't think he really has any for me."

On the advice she has for future Idol hopefuls...
“Follow your dreams and don't worry about people's opinions and negativity. Be positive and good things will happen.”

On seeing her son for the first time in weeks…
"I'm gonna hold him as long as he'll let me, and try not to sob like a lunatic because I'm sure he'll just be confused and scared. It's gonna be beautiful. I can't wait."

American Idol returns Tuesday night to FOX at 8pm ET.
