Survivor: Tocantins - Episode 2 Recap

One thing we're learning this season on Survivor: Tocantins is that it doesn't take long for extreme hunger to set in.  The  Jalapao tribe has been in the game barely four days and they can't seem to go another minute without protein.  Someone suggests eating termites and soon enough, several tribe members were downing them like M&Ms.  Desperate times call for desperate measures.  The tribe learned that Taj was not exactly struggling financially the way many of them were.  Money is often the motivator for contestants to try out for Survivor but for Taj, it was for the adventure and the experience.  She revealed to her tribe that she is married to Eddie George, a former NFL running back.  The guys were star struck momentarily then quickly realized that, if she didn't really need the money, they could vote her out soon.

The Timbira tribe seems to be faring a little bit better when it comes to food, but not where team morale is concerned.  The group continues to look to Sierra as their next target, despite her efforts to bond with them.  Yet, just as it seems her fate is sealed, tempers flare between Candace and Coach, forcing people to take sides and rethink their strategy.  In Candace's corner, people look at Coach as someone who bosses people around and is a lot of talk, but rarely delivers.  In Coach's corner, people view Candace as negative and the kind of person that could drag their tribe down.

At the reward/immunity challenge, 3 players from each tribe would face off and race to get their hands on a ball, which they must then put in their team basket.  The first tribe to score 3 points would win immunity as well as fishing gear, something that both tribes desperately needed for survival.  Timbira took an early lead but Jalapao quickly caught up, leaving the score 2-2.  In a heated final battle, Stephen broke away from the pack to score the winning point for Jalapao.  Jeff Probst revealed that Jalapao must send one Timbira member to Exile Island (which wasn't really an island at all).  They choose Brendan and Jeff lets him know that he can bring an opposing tribe member with him so he chooses Taj, who was happy to start forming friendships with the opposing tribe.

At Exile Island, Brendan was given a clue to the whereabouts of the hidden immunity idol.  Though the clue seemed totally obvious to me, you and the world, Brendan couldn't seem to figure out that the idol was hidden at his own camp until Taj explained it to him.  When he returned, he chose not to tell his tribe that he received a clue, telling them instead that Taj had gotten it and not shared any info with him.  Timbira debated whether or not Candace or Coach should go home and Sierra was taken off the table for another few days.  At tribal council, Timbira voted as a group and sent Candace packing.

Stay tuned to RealityWanted for an exclusive interview with Candace!
