A major event in my life was:
A few hours after having my youngest son I experienced severe hemorrhaging, lost a lot of blood, and had to have emergency interventions. While I almost never talk about it I think about it often. It's changed my "nothing's going to happen to me" mindset to how do I prepare for my children's future just in case.
The accomplishment I am most proud of:
I earned my Ph.D. in 2008 and have done well professionally. I am most proud of the progress I am making in balancing professional responsibilities with being a wife and mother of very young children (1 & 3). It gets extremely overwhelming at times but I'm making it!
An embarrassing story about me was:
I was walking with a friend in Chinatown in Washington, DC. I had on high boots. I've never been able to walk well in heels! I stepped off of the curb lost my footing and fell in the middle of the street with my mouth wide open in front of the Verizon Center. I knocked my front tooth loss. It immediately turned purple as it filled with blood. I pretended I was okay as my friend helped me up. When I went to get it fixed every asked if I was safe! They thought I been abused!
