About Me

Acting/Talent Experience:
I am an actor and a poet. I am also the artistic director of my own production company with my husband. We produce play, movies and documentaries through Lali Productions LLC. We have applied for our 501c3 status for our new non profit company On The Spot Edutainment. I am also the author of a nonfiction novel Survival of the Fittest...One Child's Life in the Foster Care System. I have been in plays and movies in NY, NJ and in Atlanta, GA.
Am I affiliated with unions?:
No
A major event in my life was:
I lost my late husband to stage iv liver and gall bladder cancers. He was my husband and my musician. We performed together under the logo of Poetry & Skins for over 23 years in the NY, NJ and Georgia area. He was a talented musician. We found out about his cancers while I was producing my first play in Atlanta, GA. He insisted that they play go up. We then completed our movie project and he passed away shortly after. I did not think I would survive. Yet, I did.
The accomplishment I am most proud of:
My nonfiction novel, Survival of the Fittest...One Child's Life in the Foster Care System is now in paperback and published by Neshee Publications. It is carried by Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com. I am so happy because I have been through a lot with online publishers (2). So it is great to have someone who believes in my book almost as much as I do.
An embarrassing story about me was:
My husband and I were at an important function and the speakers were talking too long and were too boring. So, I went to sleep and starting snoring. My husband told my mother to wake me up! So, I looked at him and I knew I was going to hear it all the way home. I did! ;O)
My favorite Movie:
The Titanic
My favorite TV Show:
The Bernie Mack Show
My best Physical Trait is:
I believe I have great eyes!
Topics off limit to me at a party are:
When I say I am an actor, they ask "oh yeah, were you on Broadway?" That is annoying because so many of us are talented and only a small percentage make Broadway.
Do I have tattoos or piercings:
A heart tatoo from the 1960's.
The weirdest thing about me is:
I tend to speak my mind. My husband says I remind him of children. "You say anything just like kids do, then you look at people like you know you should've just kept quiet. You are just a big kid!"
My friends would say my best qualities are:
I am giving and will do anything I can to help anyone. I am also a survivor and I encourage all of my friends to know that they are, too.
My friends would say my worst qualities are:
I am honest to a fault. I tend to predict the future and they are always mad when I am right.
The personality traits I most like about myself are:
I am daring and I have a real entrepreneur attitude. I will take a chance on something when I believe in it. Thus my acting career. My family believes that I am talented but I have struggled too much so I should just give it up. Not a chance!
The personality traits I like least about myself are:
I sometimes spend money on my acting career that I shouldn't. My family has been livid about that. So, I am being more careful.
Miscellaneous Information:
I am now discovering a new way of life with a new spouse. I feel like a teenager and every day is a new day of joy and wonder. We have hit a few bumps as we are getting to know each other and learn each other. Yet, I wouldn't trade my life with him for any other. We are both caregivers to my 88 year old mother who lives with us. Her favorite saying: "If I told anyone about the two of you, no one would ever believe me!"
