lot_kenny-set_547rcjw.jpgQ. Mark (RealityWanted.com) Would you tell us how you got involved with ON THE LOT? Had you applied online, or did you attend any type of casting call event?

A. Kenny Luby: I first heard about it from my father. He casually mentioned that he saw a commercial for it on FOX. I went online and noticed that this was a really cool film-making project by Spielberg, I noticed I only had three weeks to submit information.so I put my job on the back burner for a few weeks and cranked out a short film. I had other work I could have sent in but everything seemed to make sense to just do a new short five minute film.

Q. Mark (RealityWanted.com): How does it feel to have made it into the TOP 10?

A. Kenny Luby: Very cool and it's a whole new world that none of us are used to; that is exciting..

Q. Mark (RealityWanted.com) What originally got you into film making?

A. Kenny Luby: I don know, I think it's something you like to do without any reason. I first got into motion pictures when I started skate boarding in the 6th grade. I started to fall in love with cinematography.and I watched a lot of skateboard videos.

Q. Mark (RealityWanted.com) What is the biggest challenge you have found in taking part in "On The Lot"?

A. Kenny Luby: There are a lot of them, man. There are a few that jump out. Being out of your environment is hard. We are on a reality show and in seclusion. We are not allowed to go out into the real world and being stuck in our home base, we are disconnected from everything. It s something that requires an adjustment. . As far as the show, it is an amazing show, but very demanding. What most people don't realize is that we only have three days to make a solid piece of work, write our scripts, etc.,, its a lot of work to do each week. There is no down time at this point. Initially we had some. Now we are in full production mode and there is so much work to get done.

Q. Mark (RealityWanted.com) Can you talk about what this opportunity means to you?

A. Kenny Luby: Basically it's opportunity to get a first hand taste of what film-making is all about on a grand scale. We're being put right into a major production in Hollywood, CA. I don't know how any of us may have made it this far without the show. It is amazing to see how things go down and finally learn how all the different people work in film-making. To have the chance to have one person who is the assistant to the assistant director is very coo;l since I normally shoot the entire film on my own.

Q. Mark (RealityWanted.com) Was there a film that you saw which made you realize That's what I want to do with my life'?

A. Kenny Luby: Skateboard films, as a skateboarder you look at urban things You study a set of stairs in a way that the average person would never imagine. . When you try and capture your skateboarding on video you have to study obscure objects.

Q. Mark (RealityWanted.com) It seems you got gotten some flack from others about your lack of film school experience. Has that really played a role?

A. Kenny Luby: That whole thing has been hyped more than I wanted it to be. It's cool thatI made it this far without film school, I know school is helpful but you can just go out and be street smart to make films. There is however, a lot you can learn in school that I would still like to do it.

Kenny Luby: Hey lets catch up next week, I gotta run out to do some scouting for my next film.

Mark: Sounds great Kenny, Good luck on your next project and I look forward to talking with you again soon.
