Gang violence is ravaging America's inner cities. From Los Angeles, Chicago and St. Louis to Philadelphia, Newark and Detroit, cities across the country are losing entire generations of young people and scores of innocent bystanders to the fight. The police and politicians are often helpless to stem the tide of bloodshed. In response, brave young people have come forward to reclaim their neighborhoods, often accomplishing what the authorities haven't.
